THE CLOCK

An ordinary clock, isn't it? Tells us the time. Anything else? Most of us would go blank at this question.
What does the clock have - three hands.
1. The second hand
2. The minute hand.
3. The hour hand

So what? Every clock has these. But have you ever looked at them from any different angle? Let us do so now.
What does the second hand do? It moves the fastest amongst the three.
What is the time in our life which moves the fastest? Our childhood / adolescence days. The carefree days which do not have any responsibilities. Fun & frolic. We race through during our childhood.

The minute hand moves slower.
Adulthood. Once we touch mid twenties, we start feeling the weight of responsibilities on our young shoulders. Work. Earn a decent salary. Grow in work. Get married. Start a family. Try to attain the dream house. Compete with our friends / colleagues in being better than the others.

Last but not the least, the hour hand. Moves the slowest amongst the three. Very steady.
The elders / senior citizens in this world. Least possible responsibilities. But the most important in the society. The Third Age.

Now, if you remove the minute and hour hand, you can't tell the time by just looking at the second hand - as it is always on the move.
Similarly, you can't tell the time if you remove the second and the hour hand, by just looking at the minute hand.
Now remove both the second and minute hand. You have only the hour hand left. YET you can tell the time if the clock has just the hour hand. It is this hour hand that gives meaning to the other two hands. It gives meaning to the others.

In our life, it is the steadfast seniors / elders who hold us together. It is their experience in life that helps us solve our own problems. Generations might be different. But the experience is the same in any and every generation.

The elders / senior citizens are the roots of our society. Just as a tree is as strong as its roots, so is a society as good / strong as its elders are. It is these elders / senior citizens who give us the meaning of life. It is because of them that our childhood has been carefree and adulthood a place of learning. They are the glue that keeps us together. They have always been there for us.
We don't throw away the hour hand if gets bent / broken - do we? Why? Cause the clock has no meaning without the hour hand.
Think on these lines where your elders / senior citizens are concerned.
