I cannot imagine teaching or proving my point without giving an example.
Once again storytelling time.
The story of Carrots, Eggs & Coffee Beans.
Raju, a Supervisor in a factory is very unhappy in his work. His only friend is the elderly Prashant, who runs the factory canteen. One day Raju told his sad story of how he is unhappy with his work, to Prashant.
Prashant did not reply. He quietly put three pots on the stoves with water to heat. In one went some carrots, eggs in the second and coffee beans in the third pot. After some time the water started boiling. Raju was getting even more angry and said "Here I am wanting to quit my job and all you are bothered about is your business." Prashant lets the water boil properly and than put the carrots, eggs and beans in different bowls.
He asked Raju what does he see? Raju replies carrot, eggs & beans. "Now come and feel all these three" says Prashant.
Raju does so and says "The carrots have turned soft, eggs became hard boiled and a good strong aroma is coming from the coffee beans"
"Exactly" says Prashant. "Each of these have faced the same situation, same degree of heat, but each has reacted differently. The hard carrots became soft and weak. The fragile egg shell became hard while the inner liquid portion became hard boiled. BUT the coffee beans are the most unique. It is only under such circumstances that the best in them come out - the aroma"
How does one respond to difficult situations depends solely on oneself.
Question is - are you the carrot which turns soft under pressure or the eggs which harden up.
The best are the coffee beans. The water does not change the coffee beans. It is the other way around. The coffee beans change the water.
Now the decision of how you wish to react to pressure, is all yours.
Carrots? Hard t o look at but turns weak and soft.
Eggs? Born with a soft heart, but becomes tough and stiff under pressure.
Coffee Beans!! Reaches its best under maximum heat and pressure.
The aroma that you leave after you work under pressure is how you are recognised.
When things get worse, you should get better.
Be the aroma
